Your first visit
We are excited for you to get started on your journey towards healing your body and restoring your health. Being a new patient in a unfamiliar environment can be scary, especially when you’re in pain. However, no need to be scared! At Gallardo Chiropractic, we make sure you’re comfortable and treated with the highest standard of care. No one likes walking into the unknown, so here is what you can expect on your first visit.
*Keep in mind: The length of time you have had your problem, your age and the degree of your disability all affect the length of your treatment. Pain is a symptom of a bigger issue going on in your body. Pain is typically the last symptom to arrive and the first to go. Just because your pain is gone in the first or second visit doesn't mean that your problem is gone.
Step one: Paper work and Full Exam
You can either fill out our medical forms in office or print and fill them out at home. If you choose to fill them out before your visit, you can find the forms here. Once you’re in the exam room, the Dr. will discuss with you the reason(s) for your visit. This is your time to disclose all your current health concerns and past health history with the Dr. After this time, he will complete a physical exam. This exam may include muscle testing, reflex assessments, orthopedic testing, and other specific chiropractic evaluations.
Step two: X-rays
After your full physical exam, it’s time for x-rays. Some may wonder why x-rays are necessary or if they can skip them. Diagnostics is one of the most important elements of chiropractic care. X-rays show the Dr. a precises image of your structure and alignment. X-rays can also find tumors, infections, broken bones, degenerative joint disease, structural changes due to trauma, vertebral fractures, and spinal instability. X-rays cans also be useful for long-standing pain that has not resolved with previous health care treatment. X-rays will allow the Dr. to make a even more precise care plan for you. There are few cases in which we don’t x-ray patients and we will discuss that with you during your appointment.
Step three: Treatment and long term care plan
After the Dr. has completed his full exam, he will provide you with a treatment care plan. This treatment plan will be made up of chiropractic adjustments and physical therapy techniques. It’s important to note that more than one visit is typically needed for most health concerns. Pain is a symptom of a much larger issue going on in your body. Pain is typically the last symptom to arrive and the first to leave. Your pain may be gone in the first or second visit, but that doesn’t mean that the problem that triggered your pain is gone. The goal of chiropractic is restore the vital nerve links between your brain and body. This can take a few weeks or even several months depending on severity and history of your condition.
